Things to talk about with your girlfriend

You might think you’re being complimentary, but she’s going to view that comment in an entirely different way. Saying something like, “I love your eyes,” when you first approach a girl makes it seem as if you’re only interested in her looks. And let’s be honest, it sounds like a lie.

Even if she really does have wonderful eyes, she’s heard that comment 15+ times before. By saving that kind of compliment for later, you’ll show her that you think she’s more than just her appearance. Pay attention to what she’s carrying, or what she’s doing. Does her messenger bag or backpack have a patch of a band you like on it? Did she make an interesting observation or a joke in a conversation? That’s where you should start.

Reading body language is such an important skill to have. Does she seem tense about something? Does she seem closed off? Then, even if you have the best conversation starter, you’ll want to hold off a bit. Even though it’s nice to converse with the people around you, you’re not sure what her day has been like. Thus, you might accidentally give off a bad impression. Smiles, laughter, and eye contact with you are all good signs that a conversation is welcome.

Here are some great topics to discuss with your girlfriend that can strengthen your connection and spark engaging conversations:

  1. Dreams and Goals: Share your aspirations for the future and ask about hers. Discuss personal and professional goals.
  2. Favorite Memories: Talk about your favorite moments together and reminisce about fun times you’ve had.
  3. Travel Aspirations: Discuss places you both want to visit. Share travel stories and dream about future trips.
  4. Books, Movies, and TV Shows: Share your favorite media, and ask for recommendations. Discuss characters, plots, and themes you both enjoy.
  5. Hobbies and Interests: Explore each other’s hobbies. You might discover new activities to try together!
  6. Family and Friends: Share stories about your families and friends. Discuss the people who are important to you.
  7. Fun Hypotheticals: Ask fun “would you rather” questions or hypotheticals to encourage lighthearted discussion.
  8. Current Events: Talk about news stories or events happening in the world that interest you both.
  9. Personal Values: Discuss what values are important to you, such as honesty, kindness, or adventure.
  10. Future Together: Talk about what you envision for your relationship in the future, such as experiences you want to share or milestones you’d like to achieve.

Things to talk about with your girlfriend

A conversation will go well if it focuses on something you naturally enjoy talking about—simply because you might seem happier, or more yourself, while discussing it. If you know the girl has an interest in the particular topic as well (say, maybe you know she’s into anime based on a shirt she’s wearing) then feel free to dive in.

If it’s something you’re unsure about, a question like, “Are you into anime?” works, and if she says no try, “You might enjoy it! It’s my favorite thing to watch.” Just keep it short and remember to listen. It’s not a great idea to dominate a conversation, especially if it’s your first.

The best conversations are natural—so if you’re busy jotting down your best and funniest one-liners, you might want to abandon that list for now. Girls have a pretty good sense of when someone’s trying too hard. And while they might feel appreciative that you spent time trying to craft the perfect conversation for them, they may also get a little worried that you’re too scared to start with a standard hello. If you have to plan out the perfect opener, how awkward will that first date be?

Here are some things you can talk about with your girlfriend:

  • ExpectationsDiscuss what you want from each other in the relationship.
  • Questions about herAsk her about her role model, her childhood, her definition of success, or what makes her happiest. You can also ask her about her bucket list, her favorite celebrity, or her funniest pet story.
  • Random questionsAsk her what her comfort TV show is, what she wants to do when she retires, or what her biggest regret is.
  • Romantic questionsAsk her what her love language is, when she knew she wanted to be in a relationship with you, or what her favorite date night movie is.
  • Other questionsAsk her what makes her laugh the most, what her dream vacation is, or what she’s most grateful for.

Here are some tips for having better conversations with your girlfriend: Ask open-ended questions, Pick up on nonverbal cues, Don’t try to read her mind, Set aside time to talk, and Tell her what you need from her.

What kind of conversation should I have when I call my girlfriend?

  • Talk to her as a friend and not as a father trying to protect his daughter.
  • Let her complete before you begin .
  • If you need to think a lot on finding a topic to talk , you are still not deeply in love . Or is it just infatuation for the time being .
  • Don’t keep repeating “I love You “ very often , sometimes she might just repeat it back just because you said it first . Prove it everyday .
  • Ask her how her day was, don’t dig into questions like “ who was with you ?” “ what were so many guys doing there with you?? “ . Just try to hear her out and live her day instead of asking her really weird half minded questions . Girls are smart enough to understand whether it is just casual question or serious doubt .
  • Tease her , but don’t offend her . eg: Do this “ You did such a great thing last day of forgetting to get me my notes “ But don’t do this “ I know how dumb and useless you are, you just forgot to get me my notes “
  • Just say things that can instantly make her blush eg : You : I know what you are thinking . She: what?? He : That one of us is on the wrong bed . She: Oh really?? You : Yah I can make that out by the way you are gonna smile in just 1 second . She: hahaha lol , I am not smiling at all. You : why don’t you go to the mirror and see yourself, and imagine me holding you from behind while you take a weird selfie. She: *blush*
  • Don’t talk any gossip about some other ‘girl’ or anyone else in general . If you can say something to her about other girls , you can definitely say something about her before someone else . Girls are smart enough to make that out .
  • Don’t talk something really complicated , you might be the most intelligent person on planet earth but thats not how things work when it comes to love , you need to find things that she likes the most and make sure you talk a lot over it .
  • Listen to her carefully when she is telling you something really sad . She is telling you something just because she wants someone to listen to her and not provide an expert opinion .
  • Instead of saying “ I will fight the world for you “ . “ I can live and die for you “ , “ I will destroy anyone who hurts you “ and “I love you till moon and back “ , “ only death can do us apart” Say things like “ You take a step and I ll be there for you “ , “ Don’t fear people, you are stronger and better than the one’s who hurt you “ , “ You are gonna get more than what you have today “ , “ I might not be there when you smile but I would definitely be there when you cry “ . Empower them and don’t make them dependent. Things to talk about with your girlfriend

What are some good topics to talk about with the girl we like?

This is one of the disadvantages of being a shy person. But you can convert if into an advantage too, all the girls like a decent guy who doesn’t flirt with every girl he meets, this shows that you value your choices and you don’t fall for everything you see.

  • First of all remember not to give her an impression that you are clingy and trying to force a conversation, girls don’t admire that especially shy ones
  • Now, you can start the conversation with a simple Hi.. and then ask her about her day . Which will definitely give you a ‘lil picture of her lifestyle..
Best way to connect with someone is by finding the common interests and topic to talk about , like if she tells you an incident that happened that day with her.. and you can recall something similar that happened with you just tell her that story.. it’ll help you connect.
But please don’t if it is a conversation killer kind of one.
  • Talk to her about her hobbies.. again if found something common you can take your conversation further.
  • No matter how much shy a girl is.. there are come hidden desires of adventure in everyone’s heart.
Ask her about hers, tell her yours..
tell her anything interesting that you have done or know about your adventures or her desired adventures.
  • You can always talk about the Aims that she wants to achieve in life, if she is a goal oriented woman you’d be amused to see the passion with which she’d be talking to you.
  • Talk about her family ,tell her about your family.
  • Just so you know, mostly, shy girls are the most talkative ones if they become comfortable around you, if she is talking continuously , always, I repeat, always listen intently, because then only you’ll remember, which can help for your future conversations and also because girls love a good listener, it shows that you value her talks .
  • If she is a foodie, talk to her about the places that you’ve found with great food.

TIP- Never make the conversation all about her, participate equally in what you are trying to know about her , because it’s a two way street .. if you wanna bond you need to make an exception of not being shy with her, don’t talk to her as if she’s your crush , talk to her as if you just wanna know what kind of person she is.. Be her friend..
But be careful don’t get stuck in

Things to talk about with your girlfriend

My girlfriend calls me daily but she barely has any topic to talk to me, and the same happens to me, then the only thing we have is an awkward silence. On what all topics should I go on?

I dont know whether people accept this or not, but its a very common phenomenon. Why do you think our parents don’t sit and talk to each other all the time anymore? It’s because at some point of time, you run out of things to talk about.

By and by, we get familiar with a person and we would know every single detail about them. In the beginning days of a relationship, as the couple feel new about each other, they would have tons of topics to discuss about. They get to know each other. But after some point of time, they completely know each other. Hence they get deprived of topics to talk.

Married couples usually have children and other responsibilities, so that gives the couple atleast something to talk about. But when you’re dating, you don’t share many responsibilities too. However, if you and the other person, or at least one among you is well-

This is a common problem in any relationship. This becomes more difficult when you are in a long distance relationship. In the first few days they get to know each other and have a lot of stuffs to talk about. You go out on dates have fun all feels like a fairy tale.

But their comes a point of time where you run out of things to say. At this stage you know every single detail about your partner. If this happens just dont give up. Learn how to communicate when your mind goes blank.

This becomes easy when you have same sort of hobbies or interest. Even if you don’t share same interest just talk about your interest, even if it is a cricket match or any web series anything like that. Though she/he doesn’t know about it, they will be willing to listen to you or talk about their field of interest.

Plan something about your new dates, search internet for visiting new places. Do video chats and fun stuffs. Talk about recent news or any new events that you may know. Play something like rapid fire questions or anything like that, and if are out of questions just google “rapid fire questions for couples” etc . Your partner will be happy to know that you are very much interested in knowing their opinions and ideas.

Avoid conversation stoppers. For example if they ask you “do like reading novels ?” Then dont just simply say yes or no. You can say something like “yes i love to read. This xyz is my favourite novel ,i have read it a lot of times, do you read ,which one is your favourite?” this is just for example though couples already know all this about each other. But what i m saying dont tell responses that put a period at the end of the conversation.

If you are not in a serious type of relationship then i guess you need not to try this harder.

Hope this helped !!!!
